Additional Employee Benefits
In addition to the Employment Benefits offered to all staff, Young Life offers non-medical benefits to currently active staff enrolled in the Young Life medical plan. Eligibility for the non-medical benefits listed here varies from one item to the next; therefore, staff persons are encouraged to read the information carefully.
These plans will be reviewed periodically to determine their financial impact upon the medical plan. Young Life reserves the right to change the reimbursement rate at any time, particularly if it determines that the financial impact upon the medical plan is too costly.
Note: You must be enrolled in the Young Life Medical Plan to be eligible for the following benefits.
Camp Scholarships
Young Life will pay the fee for your child to attend one week at any Young Life camp. Camp fee only, not travel expenses.

Young Life provides camp scholarships for dependents of staff enrolled in Young Life’s medical plan. This scholarship allows for reimbursement of the camp fee for one week-long Young Life camp or event per dependent child (natural, adopted, step or foster child under the age of 26). The camp fee does not include travel or other expenses.
This benefit will be received in the staff person’s next available payroll check and will be subject to federal, state and FICA taxes under the supplemental income tax rate.
Reimbursement requests must be made after completion of the trip.The requesting staff person will work with their area/trip leader in completing the Dependent Camp Scholarship Application to provide proof of attendance and cost. Following the trip, the staff person will then request reimbursement from Benefits for the cost of the camp fee via the Workday one-time payment process. The staff person may work with the area/trip leader to defer payment until this benefit is received.

Adoption
$7,500 per child is available for professional and legal fees when the adoption is finalized.
- Because natural birth is covered under Young Life’s medical plan, the mission believes it is fitting to provide financial assistance for staff enrolled in the medical plan who they adopt a child. The benefit will provide up to $7,500 of reimbursement for legal, professional and counseling expenses related to the adoption of a child, including children already in the family through a former marriage. Reimbursement is also available to help with the cost of failed adoptions.
- Reimbursement for covered expenses will be received in the staff person’s next available payroll check and will be subject only to Medicare and Social Security tax.
- To request reimbursement, the staff person must complete the Workday one-time payment process and must include the following uploaded attachments:
- Finalized court order with judge signature or agency form stating failed adoption
- Itemized list of legal/professional fees provided by agency, attorney or other authorized entity, OR
- Personal list of legal/professional fees with accompanying, itemized receipts
- The staff person has 30 days from the birth or placement of adoption to enroll the new child in Young Life’s health plan.
Health Club Benefit
Young Life will reimburse up to $250 annually toward staff membership in a health club or exercise class.
- Home Health Equipment: Young Life will reimburse up to $125 annually for home exercise equipment.
- Half of the $250 may be applied toward home health equipment and the other half toward a health club membership, not to exceed a combined total of $250.

To encourage exercise and healthy lifestyle, Young Life provides staff enrolled in the medical benefits plan with up to $250 of total reimbursement annually toward the combination of either health club memberships and/or the purchase of home health equipment, with a maximum of $125 going toward the purchase of home exercise equipment. Reimbursement for this benefit will be received in the staff person’s next available payroll check and will be subject to federal, state and FICA taxes under the supplemental income tax rate. All requests must include a receipt.
To request this benefit, complete the Workday Health Club Benefit Request Process. All requests are subject to review and will be audited annually by the Benefits Committee. Staff will be required to pay back the full amount of any requests found to be non-reimbursable.
Please note: this is a fiscal year benefit.
Dependent Scholarships
College scholarships are available to children of staff who have had five or more years of continuous full-time service with Young Life.
For staff enrolled in the medical plan with a minimum of five years of service, Young Life provides reimbursement up to $1,000 per semester per dependent child (natural, adopted, step or foster child under the age of 26) to attend an accredited undergraduate college or trade school. The total reimbursement may not exceed the equivalent of four school years ($8,000) per eligible child. Proof of “C” average, or passing status, if grading system is not used, is required.

To request reimbursement, the staff person must complete the Workday one-time payment process along with the following uploaded attachments:
A copy of a bill for qualifying payments made
A copy of transcripts proving a “C” average or passing status from the most recent college/trade school term, or high school term along with a college/trade school acceptance letter for freshmen.
Requests must be submitted within 12 months of the end of the term or semester for which funds are being requested.

Enroll in the CollegeBound Fund
Enrollment takes about 15 minutes. Have your beneficiary’s date of birth and social security number before you begin.
- Log on to corporate.collegeboundfund.com.
- Select “Company” as your ID type.
- Enter the following user ID and password:
- User ID: YOUNGLIFE
- Password: COLLEGE
- When prompted, enter a personal user ID and password to use for subsequent visits.
- Click on “Open Account/Enrollment” and follow the instructions.
